…then today I say a story in USA Today about some of his stuff being auctioned off (see Ex-Yankee catcher’s memorabilia goes to auction). I was kinda shocked by the headline but then I read the article and the context of the auction is not bad at all. In fact his memorabilia will be auctioned off around the time of the All-Star game along with pieces from several other Yankee players.

I’ve always been a life-long Atlanta Braves fan but for some reason I really liked Thurmon Munson. He was the catcher for the Yankees during their 1978 World Champion campaign and was tragically killed in a plane crash.
